Station Hill, Bury St. Edmunds |
|
Welcome to the website for the proposed masterplan for the redevelopment of Station Hill, Bury St Edmunds. This proposal would contribute to a vibrant new “Station Quarter” for Bury St Edmunds being in a major gateway location for the town.
Hopkins Homes is keen to consult with the local community ahead of submitting its Masterplan for adoption to Bury St Edmunds Borough Council, in spring 2010. This website will provide you with details of the planned development to enable you to form a view on the proposal. The Station Hill area is allocated for redevelopment in the Bury St Edmunds Borough Local Plan 2016 and the Borough Council has approved a Concept Statement for the site which informs the content of the masterplan. Hopkins Homes’ proposals for the former rail sidings site at Station Hill would complement the recent housing development to the west at Bull Rush Crescent and the proposals for Tayfen Road to the south. The proposals for residential development with small scale retail, indoor leisure and a hotel would successfully link the town centre and the station creating a vibrant new community and restoring the station's status as a major town facility.
